it's a love story: katie

My first job, in the summer of 8th grade was at the local ice cream parlor, mostly eating the ice cream, but scooping it too. brendon went to my school and him and his friend would skateboard down to get ice cream and i would be so excited that some friends, especially a cute boy, would come visit me, plus I knew there was a closer ice cream parlor to his house, so he either liked me or just loved long skateboard rides. being a tom boy i thought it would be fun to learn how to skateboard, and thought brendon would be the best teacher, mostly because i thought he was adorible, but i guess he was pretty good at it too. We planned to meet up one night so he could "teach me" how to skateboard. I told my grandmother i was going out side to skateboard, but didn't mention i was off to meet up with a boy in the back of an elementary school parking lot. When i got there, he started showing me the basics of skateboarding and by the time we got over our initial nervousness, we ended up kissing. before we knew it, the sun had gone down and i knew i better head home. we made plans to get together again and kiss some more and i started to ride home. When i got to my driveway i was greeted by a police car. inside was my very angry grandmother, and a very understanding lady police officer. I got in big trouble for staying out late and not exactly telling my grandmother where i was, but it was worth it, i mean this kid was cute. When we retured to our first year of high school a few weeks later, it was like it all never happened, we didn't see much of eachother in the big school and when we ran into eachother in the halls i was too nervous to aproach him. all through high school we would have classes together and he was always nice to me, but i had a boyfriend and we were in different crowds, so we just never got together again.
a few years after high school I ran into brendons older brother and asked about him, and the next weekend he had tracked me down at a mutual friends BBQ . we have spent the last 4 years with each other, loving every second of our lives. we often joke about who's fault it was that we never hung out again after our first kiss 10 years ago. It was definitely his, he was just too cool (but don't tell him i told you that!) we are getting married in less than a year, and i couldn't be happier, it just keeps getting better.
